Birisi was born at Likada Farms in early October of 2005. When he was 20 days old, I drove to Illinois to bring him and his mother back to their new home in Ohio. I still remember looking upon a field of young crias - whites, and browns and grays, and seeing this one youngster who simply stood out from all the others. I phoned home and Kate asked “Which one was ours?” I replied “I don’t know, but I sure know which one I want it to be”. Well, that animal was Birisi....and to this day he continues to impress everyone who meets him.

This impressive youngster has incredible presence. Birisi is the product of three generations of gray/rose-gray genetics. His sire, Snowmass Casanova, was awarded the 2003 AAA Futurity Huacaya Herdsire of the Year and he is also sire of the 2005 AAA Futurity Dark Huacaya Herdsire of the Year!

His dam is KPR Northern Lights. She has had 4 cria to date. Her first cria, sired by Danko, was a male gray named Aurora Borealis. Her second cria was a gray female, Lady Liberty, which was kept by Likada Farms. Her third cria was a true black female Celeste - who sold for $20,000.00 as a cria and her fourth cria - is Casanova's Shooting Star sold at the AOBA National Auction in 2005 for $36,000.00.
